Are you licensed and insured?
Alabama requires a Home Builders Licensure Board roofer license for residential roofing over the threshold, plus general liability and workers' compensation. We send the certificate before we start and the license number is on the estimate.
Do you charge for inspections?
No — hail, storm and repair-or-replace inspections are free, with photos. Written reports for real estate and insurance are priced and credited to any work.
How soon can you come out?
Inspections within one to three days across Huntsville, Madison and the county; repairs usually the same week; replacements two to four weeks out; emergencies the same day.
Do you pull the permits?
Yes — City of Huntsville, City of Madison, Madison County, Limestone and Morgan counties and the neighboring towns. It's a line item on the estimate.
Do you handle HOA approval?
Yes — color and material submissions for the subdivisions that require them.
What's the deposit?
Nothing on repairs. Replacements take a third at scheduling and the balance at completion — never full payment up front. Insurance jobs follow the carrier's payment schedule.
How long does a replacement take?
One day for most Huntsville houses; two for large, steep or two-layer roofs.
Will you waive my deductible?
No — it's illegal in Alabama. We make the claim complete so the deductible is the only thing you pay.
What warranty do you offer?
Ten years on workmanship in writing, plus the manufacturer's system warranty — up to 50 years non-prorated on materials with a certified installation.
What is a FORTIFIED roof?
An IBHS construction standard — sealed deck, ring-shank nails, enhanced edges — verified by an independent evaluator. Alabama requires insurers to discount it. See our guide.
Do you roof over the old shingles?
We don't recommend it. It hides bad decking and voids the full manufacturer warranty. Tear-off is priced per square on every estimate.
Do you do small repairs?
Yes — a pipe boot, a few shingles, a flashing repair. Minimum about $250 for the trip.
Do you work in winter?
Yes. Shingles seal at lower temperatures with hand-sealing, and winter is often the fastest scheduling of the year.
Is the phone really answered 24/7?
