Huntsville roofs take a beating from March to June
Madison County sits in the heart of Dixie Alley. On one afternoon — May 20, 2025 — spotters logged hail from quarter-size near Redstone Arsenal up to baseball-size in Jones Valley, and roofs from Drake Avenue to Owens Cross Roads have been getting replaced ever since. Add the straight-line winds that come with almost every spring squall line, summers with 90% humidity that grow algae streaks on north slopes, and the occasional ice storm, and a shingle roof here works harder than the same roof in Arizona.
That's why we do three things that the out-of-town storm crews don't. We inspect with photos and tell you when it's not a claim. We replace the flashing, boots and ventilation every time instead of shingling over twenty-year-old metal. And we're still here next spring, because we live here, when the warranty matters.
The result is a roof that's ready for the next hail season, installed by licensed Alabama roofers you can verify at hblb.alabama.gov.

Questions Huntsville homeowners ask us
How do I know if my roof has hail damage?
From the ground you usually can't. Look for granules piling up at the downspouts, dented gutters or downspouts, dings in soft metal like roof vents and window screens, and neighbors getting roofs replaced after a storm. On the roof, hail leaves round bruises where granules are knocked loose and the mat underneath is exposed. We'll get on the roof, photograph every hit, and tell you honestly whether it's a claim or just cosmetic.
How much does a roof repair cost in Huntsville?
Most repairs land between $350 and $1,500. A handful of wind-lifted shingles or a failed pipe boot is on the low end; chimney flashing, a valley rebuild or a small section of rotten decking is on the high end. Anything under about $2,500 doesn't require a state roofer's license in Alabama, but we send licensed roofers regardless. You get a written price before anyone lifts a shingle.
Will you work with my insurance company?
Yes. We photograph and document the damage, meet the adjuster on the roof if you want us to, and write the estimate in the line-item format adjusters expect. We don't promise to 'waive your deductible' — that's insurance fraud in Alabama and it's the mark of a storm-chasing crew you should not let on your roof.
How long does a roof replacement take?
Most Huntsville homes are done in one day: tear-off in the morning, dried-in by lunch, shingles and ridge by late afternoon, magnet sweep for nails before we leave. Larger or steeper roofs, or ones with rotten decking that needs replacing, take two. We watch the radar and won't open a roof if a storm is coming.
Do you actually answer the phone at night?
Yes — 24 hours a day, every day. A tarp at 11 PM during a thunderstorm is the difference between a repair and a ceiling replacement. Call, tell us what's happening, and you'll get a callback with a plan, not voicemail.
