Roof insurance claims in Huntsville, handled honestly and completely
Hail bruising, wind creases, a tree through the decking: we inspect, document, meet the adjuster and build the estimate in the format carriers pay from — and we don't play games with your deductible.
Most roof replacements in Huntsville after a storm are paid by insurance, and how the claim is handled decides whether you get a whole roof or one slope and an argument. We start with a free inspection — real photos of real damage, not a 'yes' to every roof. If the damage supports a claim, we document it with test squares, help you file, meet the adjuster on the roof so hail bruising and wind creases get counted, and prepare an estimate that matches the Xactimate pricing carriers use. When the adjuster's scope leaves things out — code-required items, steep and two-story charges, decking, the second layer — we supplement with photos and citations.
Alabama law prohibits a contractor from paying or rebating your deductible, and any roofer offering to 'take care of it' is telling you how they handle the rest of the claim. We don't. What we do is make the claim complete — ridge vent, ice-and-water, drip edge, decking, code upgrades under your ordinance-or-law coverage — so the deductible is the only thing you pay. We also read your policy with you first: many Alabama policies now carry a percentage wind/hail deductible and some pay only actual cash value on older roofs, and both change the math before you file.

Questions we get about insurance claims
Will filing a claim raise my rates?
Weather claims are rated differently from liability claims and one rarely moves your premium by itself, though Alabama carriers are raising rates area-wide after storm years regardless. Several claims in a few years can bring non-renewal.
What's the wind/hail deductible?
Many Alabama policies now carry a separate wind/hail deductible of 1 to 2 percent of the dwelling coverage — $3,000 to $7,000 on a $350,000 house — instead of the flat $1,000. It's on your declarations page; we'll read it with you before you file.
My policy says 'ACV' on the roof. What does that mean?
Actual cash value — the carrier pays the replacement cost minus depreciation for the roof's age, and nothing more. On a 15-year-old roof that can be half. Replacement-cost coverage pays the rest when the work is done. Check for a roof payment schedule endorsement.
Can you waive my deductible?
No — Alabama prohibits it, and the roofers who offer it are inflating the claim to cover it. We make the claim complete instead.
The adjuster only approved one slope.
If the shingles are discontinued and can't be matched, or the damage is on several slopes, we supplement with documentation. Many one-slope approvals become full replacements.
How long do I have to file?
Check your policy — many allow a year from the date of loss, some less. File as soon as you know there's damage, after the inspection so the claim is accurate.
