Terms and conditions

Short, plain rules for every inspection, estimate and roofing job we handle in Huntsville and North Alabama.

Huntsville Roofing Co. is a residential roofing service company, locally operated and based in Huntsville, Alabama. These terms come in two lists: what we promise you, and what we need from you. Anything unclear, ask at hello@huntsvilleroofingco.com or (256) 583-9659.

What you can count on

  • Licensed roofers on larger jobs. Residential roofing work worth more than $2,500 is carried out by roofers licensed by the Alabama Home Builders Licensure Board under Ala. Code § 34-14A, bonded and insured. Their license number is printed on your written estimate and on the contract.
  • Free, itemized estimates. Homeowner inspections and estimates cost nothing, break the job down line by line, and hold for 30 days.
  • A signed contract before a single shingle moves. Work starts only once you've signed a written contract.
  • Extras priced in writing first. If the tear-off uncovers rotten decking or anything else outside the scope, you get a written change order before the extra work goes ahead.
  • Storm paperwork. We document storm damage and give you an estimate that supports your claim.
  • A dried-in roof at the end of every day. Once a roof is opened, the crew dries it in before leaving, whatever the sky is doing.
  • A workmanship warranty in writing. Every job carries one, for the period set in your contract, and it covers defects in the workmanship. Manufacturer warranties on shingles and metal panels are separate and pass to you.
  • A nail sweep. Before the crew goes, the property gets a pass with a magnet.

What we ask of you

  • Treat website prices as planning figures. They're typical ranges, nothing more. The written estimate is the number that governs.
  • Expect a fee for formal reports. A written inspection report for a real-estate sale or an insurance file carries a fee, and we tell you the amount when you book.
  • Make your own claim decisions. Whether to file is your call; whether it's covered is your carrier's. We don't file claims for you, and we don't waive, absorb or rebate deductibles.
  • Deposit, then balance. A deposit may be needed to order materials. The balance is due when the job is finished unless your contract sets other terms.
  • Allow for the weather. Rain, lightning or high wind can push a scheduled date.
  • Clear the way for tear-off. Move or cover anything fragile in the attic and around the outside of the house. Keep the driveway open for the material delivery and the dump trailer.
  • Know the warranty's limits. Later storms, falling trees, foot traffic and alterations made by someone else are not workmanship defects.
